I have none or very little knowledge
of computers/Web. Can I set up/modify/maintain my e-store by
myself?
A:
Yes. All you need to know is how to use a browser. We have
all these tools built right in to help you do these tasks in
an extremely simple interface. No learning or training or
computer skill is required! On-line help is provided
everywhere.
How
can I set up my e-store?

your email or catelog, we will build up your e-store
completely free of charge for your review, and you are under

I
have a web site/domain name already, can I still use
CatalogTool ecommerce
service?
A:
Yes. You have 2 choices: transfer the hosting of your
'domain name'/'web site' to our server; or add a new
category or button on your existing web site, say "Place An
Order". When clicked, it will jump to your e-commerce site
at our server. Or if you would like your ISP (Internet
Service Provider) to provide this service for you on its
server that hosts your domain name, please ask your ISP to
contact us to become our OEM Partner. We can contact your
ISP too, just provide us with your ISP's contacting
point.
I'd like to designate various e-commerce duties to
different staff members or a third party company. Do you
support this business model?
A:
Yes. You, as the merchant super-user when your e-store is
initially created, may create as many regular
password-protected merchant users as possible. Most
importantly, you can enable or disable each individual
function (button on "Store Admin" main menu) to each
individual merchant user so that the staff members doing
packing and delivery, when they login at "Store Admin", can
only retrieve orders but not update your products or
categories.
Can I use your e-commerce to do wholesale business, or do
both wholesale and retail business?
A:
Yes. We support both business-to-business (wholesale) and
business-to-consumers (retail) e-commerce. It would also be
a perfect wholesale price-quoting system. The system
features inventory control and very flexible discount plans
and volume pricing:
- Minimum
quantity for products and minimum sales amount of an
order: Allows you to set minimum quantities that must
be ordered for individual products, and minimum total
sales amount for an order.
- Large
quantity discounts: Allows you to set discounts for
quantities of individual products ordered.
- Total sales
discounts: Allows you to set discounts based on the
total dollar amount of an order.
- Automatic
inventory control: Inventory is automatically
deducted when ordered. Stay on top of your inventory with
reports and automatic alerts of low inventory.
Do
you do any custom designing/programming that are specially
tailored to my needs?
A:
Yes. This may or may not incur any additional charges. It is
expected that the customization effort by us obviously would
be most importantly correctly designed, and significantly
less than that required to develop the system from scratch
or that developed by unexperienced developers.
How
am I notified of orders?
A:
As soon as a customer places an order at your e-store, you
as well as the customer will receive a notification email
containing the order detail.
Can I use my fax machine to receive order
notification?
A:
Yes. We will set up your e-store so our service will fax all
the orders to your fax machine in real time.
How do I charge credit card of a customer?
A:
At your "Store Admin", you may retrieve order details in
bulk including information about the credit cards via a
secure connection for your credit card payment clearance
using your regular means. We can also set up the real time
credit card clearance service at your e-store for a
fee.
Do you support customer profiling
(memberships)?
A:
Yes. Customers who visit your e-store or have made purchases
may elect to create an account at your e-store. This account
allows them to make purchases quicker in the future and
allow you to target them and reward frequent shoppers.
Can I use the customer database to do massive
mailing/emails?
A:
Yes. Simply with a few mouse clicks, you can send
promotional email to all customers who indicated that they
were willing to accept promotional or informational
materials from you when they placed an order - an extremely
powerful tool.
Can customers track their order status online?
A:
Yes. Your staff members or a third party in charge of S/H
will be able to update the orders such as carrier name,
shipping date, and tracking number that can be queries by
customers at your e-store.
What other services do you
provide?

We also provide full-scale services such as database and
business application development (Internet enabled or not),
e-mail service, domain name and web hosting, shopping cart
web or banner design, and many more. We are currently the

My company is outside USA, can I use
your service?
A:
Yes. CatalogTool does not have any
state or country boundaries at all! Spanish, Chinese (China
and Taiwan), and other language versions of the product will
be available shortly.
Can I offer this
e-commerce service under my own brand name ? What special
skill is needed?
A:
Yes. Any business or individuals who want to become an
e-commerce power-house can become a Master
OEM Partner.
No special skill or knowledge in
computers/Internet/e-commerce is required, and no
infrastructure is required. A Master OEM Partner will have a
web site like this including the automatic e-commerce signup
under your own domain name such as http://buildyourstore.com
so as to
be able to sign up merchants/Master OEM Partners (next
levels). CatalogTool will be
completely hiden from your clients, although your site and
the service for your merchants are physically provided on
our server. In addition to becoming our Master OEM Partners,
other major web sites or ISPs may license or purchase this
product that will be physically run on your server.
In addition, an OEM management tool and OEM document library
which can help our OEM partners significantly are also
provided.
